a
new
serial
titled
“Ramayanam,” a
fresh
adaptation
of
the
epic
Ramayana.
A
promotional
video
for
the
series
has
been
released,
giving
viewers
a
glimpse

expect
from
this
upcoming
serial.

The
epic
Ramayana,
written
by
the
sage
Valmiki,
is
renowned
worldwide
and
has
been
adapted
into
numerous
Indian
and
foreign
languages.
In
Tamil,
the
epic
was
reimagined
by
Kamba
as
“Ramavataram,”
commonly
known
as
Kamba
Ramayanam.

The
Ramayana
tells
the
story
of
King
Rama
of
Ayodhya
and
his
wife
Sita
and
is
celebrated
for
its
depiction
of
relationships,
duty,
lifestyle,
and
warfare.
The
tale,
which
has
been
passed
down
through
generations
as
a
literary
work
and
through
oral
and
performative
traditions,
has
been
adapted
into
several
television
series,
including
the
highly
acclaimed
Hindi
serial
Ramayan
by
Ramanand
Sagar.
This
series
gained
a
massive
following
and
was
dubbed
into
various
languages,
including
Tamil.

The
epic’s
popularity
endures,
as
evidenced
by
the
continued
interest
in
its
retellings
on
television
and
in
film.
This
year
alone,
the
inauguration
of
the
Ayodhya
Ram
temple
in
February
sparked
renewed
conversation
around
the
epic,
while
the
mythological
action
film
Adipurush
was
released
in
June,
and
a
film
adaptation
starring
Ranbir
Kapoor
and
Sai
Pallavi
is
currently
in
development.

will
bring

new
version
of

with
“Ramayanam,”

Tamil-dubbed
adaptation
of
Siddharth
Kumar
Tewary’s
“Shrimad
Ramayan”
(2024)
series.
The
serial
will
air
on
Sun
TV,
continuing
the
tradition
of
presenting
the
epic
story
to
a
wide
audience.

Sun
TV
previously
aired
Anand
Sagar’s
Ramayan
(2008)
only
on
Sundays,
this
time
around,
the
new
serial
is
expected
to
have
a
regular
broadcast
schedule.
