Samsung has launched a new mid-range smartphone in China, the Galaxy C55. This phone packs a powerful processor, a vibrant display, a leather-clad back, and a long-lasting battery, making it a strong contender in the competitive smartphone market.
Display The C55 features a large 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a Full HD+ resolution. This translates to sharp visuals and a smooth user experience with the 120Hz refresh rate. The display boasts a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, making it viewable even in bright conditions.
Design Design-wise, the C55 differentiates itself from its plastic-clad siblings with a premium-feeling leather back panel available in Black and Orange. The phone measures 163.9 x 76.5 x 7.8mm and weighs 180 grams.
Performance Under the hood, the C55 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, a mid-range chipset offering enough power for daily tasks and even some gaming. Users can choose between 8GB or 12GB of RAM, depending on their needs for multitasking and handling demanding apps. Storage-wise, the phone comes with 256GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card (up to 1TB).
Cameras The C55 sports a triple-rear camera system. The main sensor is a 50-megapixel unit, likely accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor for close-up shots. While details on the specific lenses are yet to be revealed, this setup should provide users with decent photo quality in various lighting conditions. On the front, a 50-megapixel selfie camera caters to video calls and capturing selfies.
Battery and Other Features The C55 boasts a large 5,000mAh battery, promising long battery life for everyday use. This is further enhanced by the phone’s support for 45W fast charging, allowing users to quickly top up the battery when needed.
The C55 runs on the latest Android 14 operating system and comes with standard connectivity options like 5G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Security is handled by an in-display fingerprint sensor and Samsung’s Knox Vault technology.
Availability As of now, the Samsung Galaxy C55 is only available for purchase in China. Pricing starts at CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs. 23,000) for the 8GB RAM variant and goes up to CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 26,000) for the 12GB RAM model. There’s currently no information on a global release for this phone.
