For All Mankind will return to the streamer for another season, according to Variety.

On top of the renewal news, details of the spinoff series, Star City, have been revealed.

The creators of the original show – Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi – are also returning for the spinoff, and producing it as well.

Ben and Matt will also serve as showrunners.

Star City will take place at the beginning of For All Mankind’s alternative timeline, where the Soviets reach the moon first.

After that storyline, the show will “explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers, and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space program, and the risks they all took to propel humanity forward,” according to the logline.

This spinoff will give fans answers to questions they had about something that happened in the past as the seasons of For All Mankind jump ahead a decade each season.

No release date for the Apple TV+ spinoff has been revealed yet.

For All Mankind stars Joel Kinnaman, Michael Dorman, Sarah Jones, Shantel VanSanten, Jodi Balfour, and many others.

‘EXCITED TO BUILD!’

The showrunners expressed their excitement for the spinoff series in a statement.

“Our fascination with the Soviet space program has grown with every season of ‘For All Mankind,” Ben and Matt said.

“The more we learned about this secret city in the forests outside Moscow where the Soviet cosmonauts and engineers worked and lived, the more we wanted to tell this story of the other side of the space race.”

“We could not be more excited to continue building out the alternate history universe of For All Mankind with our partners at Apple and Sony,” they ended.

Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+ talked about how the streaming platform is expanding and the show will capture an even bigger audience.

“With each new season, For All Mankind continues to build out a fascinating world and capture global audiences through high quality storytelling that has been so skillfully developed by Ron, Matt and Ben,” he said.

‘NOT EXPECTING THAT!’

Although For All Mankind fans were excited for the renewal and spinoff, many of them were not expecting the new series.

“Was not expecting the spinoff twist!” a X, formerly Twitter, user wrote.

“More space!” an excited fan said.

“Awesome news,” added a third.

“Yaaaaas,” added one last fan.
