In what may come as a shock to the audiences, actress Lataa Sabharwal, best known for her role as Hina Khan’s onscreen mother, Rajshri Maheshwari, in the popular show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, recently announced that she has decided to quit the world of daily soaps. 
Saberwal made the official announcement about her career through an Instagram post on her verified account on February 6. 
In her post, Saberwal, besides making the shocking announcement also mentioned that though she is bidding adieu to television serials, she will be open to web shows, series, movies or even a cameo on OTT/films. 
“Announcing it formally, that I have quit daily soaps though I am open for web, movies or a great cameo. Thank you daily soaps for being an integral part of my life,” Lata’s note on Instagram read.

Soon after Saberwal made the announcement, fans flooded the comments section of the post in shock and disbelief. Some also showered her with love and good wishes while remembering how iconic her role was in ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. 
“Buy why?” asked a user. “Hope to see you in many many web shows n movies. Watched you everyday in yrkkh and Rajshri was like an iconic mother and we all wanted our mother like u really a big big fan ma’am,” wrote a netizen in the comments section. 
“Rajshri from Yrkkh one of the most important character in the show you were amazing as rajshristill you miss you in yrkkh ma’am we’ll miss you on-screen all the best for your future,” wrote another user. 
“Lata ji, I loved your performance in yeh rishta. Infact I keep watching the serial till date again and again. Also, vivah!! Your daily soaps never fail to make my day!! Even though I’m a bit sad that I will see no more of you in daily soaps, I hope and wish unit the best for your new endeavor! Yours truly, your biggest fan!!!!!” wrote yet another user. 
Thanking all her fans for their immense support, Lataa Saberwal replied in the comments section and wrote, “Thank you, keep supporting me like you all have been doing, hoping to make a positive difference to the society (sic).”
For the unversed, Lataa was seen opposite her real-life husband Sanjeev Seth in ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. The couple, who tied the knot in 2010, also participated in the dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye 6’.
In the show’s spin-off too, Lata played an important part, again as Rajshri Maheshwari. 
Lataa made her acting debut with ‘Geeta Rahasya’. She later went on to do shows like ‘Kehta Hai Dil’, ‘Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki’, ‘Naaginn’, ‘Main Teri Parchhain Hoon’, ‘Who Apna Sa’ and ‘Ishq Mein Marjawan’. 
Not only Lataa is a talented actress but also a popular YouTuber who has worked in films like ‘Ishq Vishk’, ‘Vivah’ and ‘Prem Ratan Payo’.
