Mumbai and Bengaluru have been put on high alert after a man from Bengaluru, identified as Dilip Das sent an email informing police officials that terrorists might use chemical weapons in their attack.
Security in both the cities has been increased by several notches and police officials are investigation the matter.
Units involved in the investigation are crime branch, anti-terrorist squad, state intelligence unit and cyber police.
A high alert has been sounded in the state after the police claimed to have received an intelligence input about Islamic State members trying to enter Mumbai via sea. A source said that nine suspects, who hail from Assam, are likely to target Mumbai.
