Tinnu Anand says he once fired Madhuri Dixit after she refused to remove her blouse for scene: ‘Say good bye to…’

Tinnu Anand says he fired Madhuri Dixit when she refused to remove her blouse for a scene in his film.

Tinnu Anand, actor and director, who is best known for making films like Kaalia and Shahenshah, once cast Madhuri Dixit and Amitabh Bachchan in a film titled Shanakht in 1989. The filmmaker recently said in an interview that he fired Madhuri for refusing to remove her blouse for a scene in the movie.

In a recent conversation with Radio Nasha, Tinnu Anand recalled the first scene he scene of the movie that he was going to shoot and said, “In the scene, Amitabh is tied up in chains by the villain in that carriage. He is trying to protect Madhuri but he gets overpowered by these goons. So Madhuri’s character says why are you attacking a man in chains when a woman is standing in front of you.”

The actor-director further recalled narrating the scene to Madhuri Dixit and getting a nod from her and said, “I had narrated the entire sequence to Madhuri and I told her that you have to remove your blouse and for the first time, we should see you in your bra. And I am not going to hide anything behind a haystack or anything. Because you are offering yourself to help a man who is trying to help you. So it is a very important situation and I want to shoot it on the first day. She said okay,”
He further added that he also asked Madhuri to design her own bra if she wanted to and said, “I said you can design your bra, whatever you want. You don’t have to wear a bra but you can design your own bra, I don’t mind. But it has to be a bra because you are opening your blouse, offering yourself.”

Tinnu Anand then recalled the first day of the shoot when he was waiting for Madhuri to come on set, however, when she didn’t come, the actor-director went to check only to find out that she hadn’t even started getting ready. He further added, “I asked what happened. She said, ‘Tinnu, I don’t want to do this particular scene.’ I said, ‘I’m sorry, you have to do this scene.’ She said, ‘No, I don’t want to.’ I said, ‘Okay, pack up, say goodbye to the film. I’ll cancel my shoot.’”

He further said that when he was explaining what happened to Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit’s secretary came and said, “She will agree to it, give her some time.” They then shot for 5 days and Mohan Desai also appreciated whatever reel he saw and after that, Madhuri and Tinnu never collaborated again.

Meanwhile, Tinnu Anand will be next seen in Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire which also stars Prabhas. Helmed by Prashanth Neel, the movie was earlier scheduled to release in theatres on September 28, however, has now been postponed, and if the reports are to be believed it will clash with Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 on Diwali.
