The United Nations Auditorium hosted a special screening of this comedy-drama, and the movie was registered as the first full-length Indian movie to be screened at the UN.

The 2003 blockbuster comedy Munna Bhai M.B.B.S not only gave a new lease to Sanjay Dutt, but it also gave moviegoers a massy director, Rajkumar Hirani. This director has a 100% track record and has always given blockbusters in his career. After a gap of 9 years, Hirani will bring his next directorial Dunki with Shah Rukh Khan. 

Well, Hirani has not only set box office records but has also taken Indian cinema to new heights. His 2006 film, Lage Raho Munna Bhai was not just a bonafide blockbuster, but it has also created history. The sequel to the 2003 comedy film, Lage Raho Munna Bhai starred Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi as lovable Munna and Circuit. The sequel was released with positive responses from the audience and critics.

The 2006 movie has not only critical praise and favourable box office results, but it also became the first Indian movie to be screened at the UN. The Sanjay Dutt-starrer, produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra became the first full-length Indian movie to be showcased at the United Nations auditorium. 

As the movie celebrates Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology, the movie was shown at the UN as a part centennial observation of the first Satyagraha launched by Mahatma Gandhi. 

Lage Raho Munna Bhai also featured Anushka Sharma? 

In one of the scenes, a furious Sanjay Dutt walks towards the radio studio, and while marching towards the room, a poster of Anushka Sharma appears on the screen. Two years after this movie, Anushka made her Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008).

Lage Raho Munna Bhai was initially based on? 

When Rajkumar Hirani started to work on the film, it was based on lawyers and the judiciary system. However, Rajkumar wasn’t happy with the initial draft. Thus, he reworked the film and made it on the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi. Released, in cinemas on September 1, 2006, the movie was a blockbuster with an estimated Rs 74 crore domestic collection.
