Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have been grabbing headlines for their personal life. The couple filed for divorce after 4 years of marriage on September 6. Now, they have issued a joint statement for fans asking them for privacy. 

On Wednesday, Joe Jonas took to his Instagram and shared a joint statement after filing for divorce from Sophie Turner. The statement read, “Statement from the two of us: After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.” The couple further asked fans to not believe in the ‘speculative narratives’ about their divorce and added,  “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision.” Not only this, they also requested fans for their and their children’s privacy and ended the statement by writing, “and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

Joe and Sophie met in 2016 and engaged a year later. They married in Vegas style in 2019 and have been living the family life ever since, soon welcoming their first child in 2020 and another in 2022. In four years, a lot has occurred to them.

Earlier, TMZ had reported that the couple had been experiencing problems for around six months due to the differences in their lifestyles. Talking to the portal, a source said, “She likes to party, he likes to stay at home. They have very different lifestyles.” A source told the portal, “He (Joe Jonas) never wanted to break up his family, but he had to take what he felt was the best course of action for his girls. An unhappy home isn’t a home, and the truth is that he and Sophie were going through it this year. It just kept building, and Joe finally reached a point where he felt that he had exhausted all options to salvage the marriage.”

Professionally, Joe Jonas is currently on a tour with his brothers and is also scheduled to perform through the winter. Sophie Turner, however, is not quite as active as her GOT days. Meanwhile, Joe and Sophie share a three-year-old daughter Willa, and a one-year-old daughter, whose name they have not revealed. As per TMZ, Joe is asking for joint custody of their daughters.
