Tecno, a prominent player in the smartphone industry, made waves earlier this year with its entry into the foldable smartphone market. Their first foray into this space was the Tecno Phantom V Fold, boasting a similar foldable form factor as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Now, the company is ready to unveil its first clamshell-style foldable smartphone, the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G. The official announcement indicates that the Phantom V Flip will debut on September 22 in Singapore. Excitingly, it will also find its way into the Indian market, as evidenced by the live microsite on Amazon, teasing the device in a vibrant shade of purple.

A Glimpse of the Design

Earlier this month, leaks of the Tecno Phantom V Flip offered a tantalizing preview of what to expect. Notably, the device has a circular cover display, adding a touch of innovation to its design. The round cover display will have two cameras positioned along its edge and a single LED flash. There are rumors that the device will have a 64MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

The Tecno Phantom V Flip is poised to impress with its display. It will sport a compact 1.32-inch cover AMOLED display, boasting a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the star of the show will be the main folding display, a generous 6.9-inch AMOLED screen, offering a 144Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution of 2640 × 1080 pixels. This promises immersive visuals and a superior user experience.

Under the Hood

The Tecno Phantom V Flip was previously listed on the Google Play Console, revealing that it would be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC. This listing also confirms that the smartphone will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. However, it appears that Tecno has opted not to include a microSD card slot in the Phantom V Flip, according to the leaks.
