Stock Market Live Updates: A day after defying the global headwinds, the Indian stock market is set for a positive start of Thursday’s trading session, indicated Gift Nifty.

Gift Nifty was initially down by 44 points, but it later recovered and was up 10.5 points at 7:50 am. Nifty and Sensex closed with marginal gains on Wednesday as the investors remained cautious due to geopolitical uncertainty.

The Nifty 50 closed 129.5% higher at 24813.45 points, while the BSE Sensex ended the session with 410 points of gain at 81596.63. Indian stock market showed resilience despite negative performance by the US stock markets amid concerns of economic slowdown.

Broader market indices also remained strong as with Midcap100 and Smallcap100 indices gaining 0.8% and 0.4% respectively. Nifty Realty (+1.7%) and Pharma (+1.3%) led sectoral gains.
