Company representatives met with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu at the Secretariat to finalise these agreements. The MoUs were signed to formalise the establishment of these industries. The companies have shown interest in investing more than Rs 5,260 crore, which will create numerous job opportunities in the pharma sector.

Investment Plans and Job Creation

The government will allocate land for these new pharma manufacturing units within the designated Pharma City. According to the MoUs, MSN Laboratories plans to set up a manufacturing unit and an R&D centre. Laurus Labs and Aurobindo Pharma will each establish separate formulation units. Gland Pharma intends to open an R&D centre along with injectables and drug substance manufacturing units.

Dr Reddys Labs is set to build an injectable and biosimilars unit. Meanwhile, Hetero Labs will focus on establishing a finished dose and injectable manufacturing plant. These developments are part of a broader strategy to enhance the pharmaceutical infrastructure in Telangana.

Government Support and Infrastructure

The Chief Minister has directed officials to allocate land for these new facilities promptly. Additionally, he emphasised ensuring that necessary infrastructure is provided in Pharma City. Construction work for these projects is scheduled to commence within the next four months, according to official plans.

This initiative reflects a concerted effort by both the government and private sector to bolster the pharmaceutical industry in Telangana. By facilitating these investments, the state aims to strengthen its position as a hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and research.

The collaboration between these prominent companies and the Telangana government underscores a commitment to economic growth and job creation. As these projects progress, they are expected to contribute significantly to the region’s industrial landscape.
