Mumbai police tightened security outside Shah Rukh Khan’s palatial residence, Mannat, after protestors gathered near his house to protest against Shah Rukh Khan for endorsing an online gaming app.
On Saturday afternoon, Mumbai police were deployed outside Shah Rukh Khan’s residence Mannat after a group of people gathered to protest against the actor for endorsing online gaming apps. As per the reports, around 4-5 people have been detained by police.
The protest led by Untouch Youth Foundation stated that they will be holding a protest against online gaming apps and portals like Junglee Rummy, Zupee, and others. The protestors expressed their opinion against online gaming apps, saying that these platforms corrupt youth and misguide them, leading to financial loss.
For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan endorses an online rummy platform A23 Games, and Khan has shot a promo for the app in which the actor can be heard saying, “Chalo Saath Khelein.”

As Free Press Journal reported, the organisation issued an official statement, explaining their thought behind the protest. “Famous actors and actresses work in these advertisements and they are working towards misguiding society. The protest will be held outside Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat bungalow on behalf of Untouch India Foundation,” the statement read.
President of Untouch India Foundation, Krishchandra Adal, said, “The new generation is involved in playing Junglee rummy. If someone is playing Junglee rummy or gambling outside, the police arrest them, but big Bollywood stars promoting online games are misleading the young generation. The Bollywood stars also know it is wrong, but they are getting money so they are promoting them. We make these stars famous by watching their movies and spending our money on them. We demand these advertisements to stop. These apps are illegal, we can not find them on Google, but these apps are uploaded on private websites.”
The organisation has also named other actors like Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, Prakash Raj, Annu Kapoor and Rana Daggubati for endorsing online gaming portals. Shah Rukh Khan, on the work front, will soon be seen in Atlee’s actioner, Jawan. The movie will release in cinemas on September 7.
