Sanam Teri Kasam To Get Competition: Interstellar, Dune 2 Re-Release Soon; Harshvardhan Rane In Race 4?

Sanam Teri Kasam Re-Release Box Office Collection: The success of romantic cult Sanam Teri Kasam has been top-notch, making it the highest re-release in India. However, the Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane starrer may face competition soon! That is because, as per reports, two blockbuster Hollywood movies Interstellar and Dune 2 are likely to hit Indian cinemas during the Holi festival. Also, reports have stated that Akshay Kumar’s romantic comedy Namaste London may re-release this week too.

Interstellar Re-Release:

Reports have stated that Christopher Nolan directed and Matthew McConaughey-Anne Hathaway starrer Interstellar movie will be re-released on March 14, which is a public holiday in many states due to the celebration of Holi.

Released in 2014, Interstellar is an epic science fiction film. The movie was co-written by Christopher Nolan’s brother Jonathan. Apart from McConaughey and Hathaway, other casts of Interstellar are Jessica Chastain, Ellen Burstyn, Bill Irwin, and Michael Caine.

At that time, Interstellar received massive fan support and positive reviews, grossing about $681 million worldwide in the initial theatrical run. This made Interstellar the tenth-highest-grossing film of 2014. The movie was nominated for five awards at the 87th Academy Awards, winning Best Visual Effects.

In the mid-21st century, humanity faces extinction due to dust storms and widespread crop blights. Joseph Cooper, a widowed former NASA test pilot, works as a farmer and raises his children, Murph and Tom, alongside his father-in-law Donald. Living in a post-truth society, Cooper is reprimanded by Murph’s teachers for telling her that the Apollo missions were not fabricated. During a dust storm, the two discover that dust patterns in Murph’s room, which she first attributes to a ghost, result from a gravitational anomaly, and translate into geographic coordinates, as per Wikipedia.

The movie will be screened in Indian cinemas for about a week.

Dune: Part 2 Re-Release In India:

Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya starrer Dune: Part Two was a 2024 hit. The epic space opera movie was released on February 6, 2024, at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico. The movie hit the cinemas in the USA on March 1, receiving a positive response from critics and fans.

Dune: Part 2 grossed about $714.4 million worldwide, making it the sixth highest-grossing film of 2024.

It received numerous accolades, including being named one of the top 10 films of 2024 by the American Film Institute. It received five nominations at the 97th Academy Awards (including Best Picture), winning Best Sound and Best Visual Effects. It also won two BAFTAs for Best Sound and Best Special Visual Effects, and received two nominations at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Drama. A sequel based on Herbert’s 1969 novel Dune Messiah is in development, as per Wikipedia.

Just like Interstellar, Dune: Part 2 will be available in Indian theatres for a week as well till March 20.

Sanam Teri Kasam Re-Release Box Office Collection:

It needs to be noted that a host of classic and popular movies both in Bollywood and Hollywood have lined-up after the historic success of Sanam Teri Kasam which was re-released on February 7, 2025. Taking the Bollywood by the storm, Sanam Teri Kasam emerged as the highest grosser in the re-release segment, also the first re-release to cross Rs 50 crore mark.

After being a flop for nine years, the 2016 film’s worldwide collection is now near Rs 55 crore.

Apart from this, the movie’s success has turned to be a boon for its leading casts Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane. As per reports, Rane could be part of Saif Ali Khan’s Race 4 as a villain. However, that speculation was quickly shunned by the Race 4 producer Ramesh Taurani. While Race 4 rumours were denied, Rane is confirmed to be part of Sanam Teri Kasam 2.
