Sanam Teri Kasam Re-Release Box Office: The Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane has become the biggest hit in re-release, after being a flop from 2016 to 2024. The re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam is the highest grosser, overtaking many classic and nostalgic Bollywood biggies like Sholay, Kal Ho Na Ho, VeerZaara, and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. By the end of last month, Sanam Teri Kasam had crossed over Rs 50 crore collection and is less than Rs 1 crore away from hitting the Rs 55 crore mark.

Sanam Teri Kasam Re-Release Box Office Collection:

Data from Sacnilk revealed that between February 7 to 28, the re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam posted India’s gross collection of Rs 51.4 crore, becoming the first re-release to cross the Rs 50 crore mark. Also, this makes it the highest-grossing re-release in India. Worldwide gross collection is about Rs 54.2 crore till February 28 end, which means Sanam Teri Kasam recorded this remarkable collection in 21 21-day span.

The movie has outrun Tumbbad’s box office collection of Rs 38 crore, pushing the folk-horror movie to the second rank. Ghilli is third, Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani is in fourth rank and Sholay is the fifth highest-grosser.

Ghilli’s re-release bagged a box office collection of up to Rs 32.50 crore, while Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’s box collection was up to Rs 26.75 crore. Sholay’s re-release bagged a collection of Rs 13 crore.

Apart from this, Sanam Teri Kasam is the seventh highest grossing re-release film by opening day. On its opening day which was February 7, Sanam Teri Kasam earned Rs 4-5.14 crore crore. The highest re-release grosser by opening day was Ghilli with Rs 7.50 crore to Rs 10 crore collection, followed by Gabbar Singh with between Rs 6.50 crore to Rs 8.02 crore collection, and Murari with up to Rs 5.45 crore collection on the opening day.

Not only that, Sanam Teri Kasam is the highest grossing milestone film. Its milestone is of Rs 50 crore, beating Tumbbad who touched Rs 35 crore mark during its re-release period. Notably, Sholay movie had touched the milestone of R 10 crore. But Sanam Teri Kasam has set new benchmark of Rs 50 crore for the upcoming re-releases.

Sanam Teri Kasam tells the story of a tough ex-convict Inder and a traditional librarian Saru. Inder and Saru fall in love and get married but a tragedy changes their lives forever. The cinematography was done by Chirantan Das, the music was given by Himesh Reshammiya, and the lyrics were written by Reshammiya, Sameer Anjaan, Shabbir Ahmed and Subrat Sinha. Sanam Teri Kasam was released worldwide on 5 February 2016 under Eros International. It received mixed reviews from critics and was a commercial failure in its first release. It was re-released on 7 February 2025, and emerged as a commercial success, as per Wikipedia.

Although the movie flopped in 2016, it received huge demand from OTT platforms. Apart from cinemas, the movie can be streamed on OTT platforms like Jio Cinema, Zee5, YouTube, and Apple TV. The film is available for free on Jio and YouTube.
