Russian Regulator Gives Apple Deadline To Comply

Apple faces a November 30 deadline to comply with an antitrust order from the Russian Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS), reported Bloomberg

The FAS determined that Apple abused its market dominance relating to software for iOS, according to an announcement from the service.

The agency officially requested that Apple remove barriers for third-party developers to enter the market of software for iOS, the announcement stated.

The FAS launched a probe into alleged antitrust violations by Apple one year ago, following a complaint by online security company Kaspersky Labs. At the time, Apple stated the software put “user’s safety and privacy at risk.” The agency ruled Apple forces developers to distribute to their apps through the App Store and then unlawfully blocks them.
