Rajinikanth said Anirudh Ravichander’s music lifted Jailer and made it a blockbuster.
Rajinikanth’s Jailer, which hit the theatres on August 10, broke many box office records and is now one of the highest-grossing Tamil films. At a recent event, the actor revealed that the film was ‘above average’ before Anirudh Ravichander’s music.
Rajinikanth said Anirudh Ravichander’s music lifted the film and made it a blockbuster. He said, “to be frank with you, the movie before RR (e-recording) was above average ah dha irundhuchu, Ani (Anirudh) took it to the next level.” He mentioned, “I watched the film first without the re-recording. I then asked Sembian sir and Kannan sir about their opinions on the film. Kannan was all praise. I told him, ‘Nelson is your friend and you will obviously appreciate him.’ I then asked Sembian and he said the film was above average. But, the film before the re-recording was done, was above average to me too. However, the manner in which Anirudh lifted the film was, ‘My God’. He transformed Jailer almost like a bride-to-be after makeup. Superb.”
Earlier, celebrating the film’s success, the film’s producer Kalanithi Maran, gifted BMW X7 to Rajinikanth and Porsche to the director Nelson on September 1 last week. On September 4, the music director Anirudh Ravichander was also presented with a brand new Porsche car worth Rs 1.5 crore by Maran.
The video of the same was shared on the social media handles and YouTube channel of the production banner Sun Pictures with the caption, “To celebrate the humongous blockbuster #Jailer, Mr. Kalanithi Maran presented the key of a brand new Porsche car to @anirudhofficial”.
In the clip, it is seen that Anirudh was given the option to pick one out of the three luxury cars and he added the brand new Porsche to his swanky car collection. Anirudh, who is the nephew of Rajinikanth, has given chartbuster songs such as Kaavaalaa, Hukum, and Rathamaarey for Jailer.
