The Cambridges’ 2020 Christmas photo is here!

In the photo released Wednesday, Prince William, Duchess Kate and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis pose at Anmer Hall.

In the photo, the family of five is all smiles sitting together festively atop haystacks before a pile of firewood. Their dress is casual: Kate dons a cranberry sweater and a pair of jeans next to a more mutely clad Will, with the children in equally layered looks.

Charlotte, 5, sits perched on her mother’s lap in pigtails wearing a patterned sweater and shearling-lined boots, while little Louis, 2, grins before his father in a navy jumper. George, 7, broke from his sweater-clad family in a chestnut fleece.

The photo was taken in the fall by photographer Matt Porteous, according to a press release from Kensington Palace, and will be featured in the royal family’s 2020 Christmas card.

Clarence House also released a photo of Prince Charles and wife Duchess Camilla Wednesday, which will be featured in their Christmas card this year.

The sunshine-filled photo was taken by a staffer during the couple’s stay in Birkhall, the prince’s Scottish home, in early autumn.

Last year, the Cambridges’ card showed the family dressed in a blue color scheme and posing on a vintage motorbike and sidecar. Around the picture was a dark green border with “2019” written at the bottom.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s 2019 card showed the couple, sunglasses firmly in place, in a vintage MG convertible. It was taken when they were visiting Cuba last March.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan also took part in the royal Christmas tradition last year. The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust shared their Christmas card on its Twitter account. 

The card featured an adorable black-and-white GIF of the family, with then-7-month-old Archie looking into the camera as his parents laugh in the background under a twinkling Christmas tree.  

The 2019 sentiment read, “Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. From our family to yours.”
