Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the first phase of the Navi Mumbai International Airport on Wednesday, according to PTI. This airport, constructed at a cost of Rs 19,650 crore, stands as India’s largest greenfield airport project. Developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, it aims to alleviate congestion in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region by working alongside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA).
