Actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt recently said in an interview that she did not face the camera for 21 years as she was only producing and directing films.
Actress-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt has a penchant to remain in the news and her fan following has increased considerably after her participation in Bigg Boss OTT 2. In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Pooja Bhatt talked about leaving acting at a very young age after making her acting debut at the age of just 17. Pooja Bhatt’s debut film Daddy was directed by her father Mahesh Bhatt.
“Daddy, after Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi, Sadak was like a hat-trick. At the age of 19, I was a superstar and at the age of 24, the industry said ‘it’s over’ so I said ‘Yeh hai Duniya’. This is the only industry in India where at the age of 24, when most people are just starting out, you have reached the heights of stardom. They have already thrown you into the pit saying that your work is over. .”
During the interview, Pooja also revealed why she left acting at the age of 25 and decided to become a director. “At the age of 25, I started my own production house, made Tamanna. I won my first National Award. I got a feeling of self-satisfaction. I traveled across the country meeting people and that film raised money for charity, I got my National Award. Then I made Dushman with Kajol and then I directed Zakhm,” she said.
Apart from this, Pooja Bhatt also said that she did not face the camera for 21 years as she was only producing and directing films. According to her, she has accepted the fact that her era of stardom is over and she has entered a new phase of life as a film producer. Pooja’s last film as producer was Jism 2, which was the debut film of Sunny Leone.
