Speaking
about
the
storyline,
director
Vijay
Milton
says,
“It
won’t
be
a
very
loud
action
film.
In
brief,
it
is
about
a
stranger
in
a
strange
land.”
Explaining
about
the
title
of
the
movie,
director
said,
“The
reason
for
the
title
is
that
the
protagonist’s
past
has
a
connection
to
rain
and
includes
some
tragic
events.
Therefore,
he
does
not
like
rain.
We
have
treated
the
element
of
rain
as
one
of
the
characters
in
the
film.”

Milton
explained
how
he
managed
to
make
the
lead
Antonu
come
on
board
for
Mazhai
Pidikatha
Manithan,
“We
have
been
long-time
friends
and
have
known
each
other
since
2006,
even
before
he
became
an
actor.
Once
I
narrated
the
story,
he
liked
it
and
came
on
board.”
