a

India.
It
led
to
nationwide
communal
riot
followed
by
violence
between
Muslims
and
Hindus
in
Calcutta(Now
Kolkata)
in
the
Bengal
province
of
British
India.
The
four
day,
infamously
known
as
the
Week
of
Long
Knives,
riot
resulted
in
10,000
dead
and
15,000
severely
wounded.

Plot

The
film
is
widely
based
on
the
haunting
tale
of
the
Calcutta
Killing
and
the
Noakhali
massacres
which
later
had
a
long-term
brutal
political
consequences.
The
story
sheds
light
to
the
erased
history
of
Bengal
and
unveils
the
fact
how
Bengali
Hindus
faced
the
atrocities
on
the
cusp
of
Independence
which
left
a
daunting
mark
even
after
almost
eight
decades.
