As the audiences await the trailer of Shah Rukh Khan’s action-thriller Jawan before its worldwide release on September 7, it seems that Shah Rukh’s best friend and filmmaker Karan Johar saw the trailer on August 27, Sunday night and shared his excitement on his social media. 

Taking to his Instagram Stories, the filmmaker wrote, “I just saw the trailer of the century!!!! #iykyk”. Though Karan didn’t mention any movie’s name, netizens were quick to deduce that he is talking about Jawan since as soon as he posted his Story, the industry trade was abuzz that the trailer for Shah Rukh Khan film will be launched on Monday.

It is no surprise that Shah Rukh must have shown the Jawan trailer to Karan Johar before its release as the filmmaker has directed the superstar in his career-defining films such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and My Name Is Khan. Kal Ho Naa Ho was written and produced by Karan under his banner Dharma Productions.

Talking about Jawan, the film will see the ‘Lady Superstar’ Nayanthara making her Bollywood debut. Her chemistry with Shah Rukh in the song Chaleya, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, sung by Arijit Singh and Shilpa Rao, and written by Kumaar, was hugely appreciated. Fans are waiting to see her power-packed avatar in the film.

The upcoming actioner also marks director Atlee’s Bollywood debut, who has previously helmed three back-to-back superhits with Thalapathy Vijay namely Theri, Mersal, and Bigil. It is being rumoured that Vijay will also be seen in a cameo in Jawan. Deepika Padukone also makes a special appearance in the film.

Also starring Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya among others, Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film will release worldwide in theatres on September 7th, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
