Rep. Don Bacon on Sunday warned that “it is potential” that Speaker Mike Johnson may face a vote to oust him if he strikes to cross Ukraine help within the Home.

“I am not going to disclaim it,” Bacon, R-Neb., mentioned when requested by NBC Information’ “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker whether or not it is potential Johnson may lose his speakership over Ukraine help.

“We now have one or two folks that aren’t crew — they are not crew gamers. They’d somewhat benefit from the limelight, the social media,” Bacon added, although he didn’t title any members.

“It is a very slender majority, and one or two folks could make us a minority,” he mentioned.

Bacon favors some help for Ukraine and highlighted his partnership with Reps. Jared Golden, D-Maine, Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., and Ed Case, D-Hawaii, on a Ukraine help invoice.

“We put a invoice collectively that focuses on navy help — a $66 billion invoice that gives navy help to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan,” Bacon informed Welker, calling for a “bicameral, bipartisan answer.”

“If we do that invoice, and I believe we are going to, there’s sufficient help within the Home to get this accomplished. And, and I wish to guarantee that now we have help within the Senate,” Bacon mentioned.
