IIT Madras and Renault Nissan Technology Collaborate to Enhance Student Talent Development

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has formed a collaboration with Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India Pvt Ltd. This partnership aims to provide internships and job placements for students, according to a senior official. Renault Nissan Tech supports the global car manufacturers Renault and Nissan.

This collaboration focuses on developing talent and fostering innovation. It aims to enhance the academic journey of around 35,000 students pursuing a BS Degree at IIT Madras. The initiative includes mentorship programmes, viva sessions, and leadership talks led by company experts.

Talent Development and Innovation

Professor Prathap Haridoss, Dean of Academic Courses at IIT Madras, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “We are extremely happy to sign this MoU with Renault Nissan Tech. This is a shining example of IIT Madras vision to build bridges between the academic and corporate worlds. Together, Renault Nissan Tech and IIT Madras are setting a benchmark for collaboration in terms of the variety of engagements enabled,” he stated.

Renault Nissan Tech’s Managing Director, Debashis Neogi, highlighted the shared vision with IIT Madras. “This MoU with IIT Madras reinforces our shared vision of creating an ecosystem that empowers students, upskills professionals, and addresses the dynamic challenges of the automotive and technology landscape. Together, we are shaping industry leaders and solutions of tomorrow,” he said.

Opportunities for Students and Professionals

The agreement also allows company employees to enhance their knowledge through programmes at the IIT Madras Centre for Outreach and Digital Education. These include executive education certificate programmes designed to upskill professionals in various fields.

By joining forces, IIT Madras and Renault Nissan Tech are creating a model for collaboration between academia and industry. This partnership not only benefits students but also contributes to addressing challenges in the automotive and technology sectors.
