The construction of the HPCL Refinery in Balotra district is crucial for Rajasthan’s growth, according to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. He emphasised its importance for both western Rajasthan and the entire state. Sharma urged the completion of pending units to start production, sell petroleum products, and maximise state revenue.

During his visit to Balotra district, Sharma inspected the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery at Pachpadara. He held a review meeting to assess progress. He stressed the need to provide maximum employment opportunities to locals during the construction phase of the project.

Development Plans for Petro Zone

Sharma announced plans to develop a Petro Zone around the refinery area. He instructed officials to maintain regular contact with companies involved in this sector. This initiative aims to boost economic activities and attract investments in the region.

The Chief Minister also directed action against firms and contractors causing delays in refinery works. He emphasised accountability and timely completion of tasks. This move is expected to streamline operations and ensure project timelines are met.

Appointment of Special Officer

To monitor progress, Sharma instructed the Industry and Commerce Department to appoint a special officer. This officer will review ongoing refinery works and prepare a report within 15 days. This step aims to enhance oversight and address any issues promptly.

Additionally, Sharma tasked the District Collector with creating a comprehensive development plan for Balotra district. The plan should address basic needs like water, roads, electricity, education, and healthcare to improve residents’ quality of life.

Sharma’s directives reflect a commitment to regional development and efficient project management. By focusing on infrastructure and employment, these initiatives aim to benefit both local communities and the broader state economy.
