Recently, Anil Kapoor’s son and actor Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor invited criticism for his ‘tone deaf’ take on wearing fake sneakers. Now, the actor took to his social media to react and give it back to his trolls citing that his message was for his followers who are sneakerheads. 

On Monday, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor took to his Instagram and wrote, “Don’t know who needs to hear this but pls stop wearing fake sneakers if you have a low/ moderate budget there’s plenty of great options out there. Converse vans basic Air Force etc if someone gets you a gift and they happen to be inauthentic u can pass them onto someone else who doesn’t know what they are and would be happy to wear.. but if you’re buying your own please do your due diligence. buy from trusted sellers.” 

Netizens slammed the actor for his ‘tone deaf’ take. One of the comments read, “Don’t know you need to hear this…Absolutely no one. Should’ve kept it to himself.” Another wrote, “There are people who are tone deaf to reality and then there are Anil Kapoor’s children.” Some also called him “rich brat.” 
Now, reacting to the trolling for his take on wearing fake sneakers, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor took to his Twitter and wrote, “When I put this out I already knew people who don’t know people would come after me, etc but the truth is I’ve been doing this for a long time and reps of hyped shoes are more expensive than say a pair of converse old skool vans or used air forces, etc.”

He further added that many of his followers are sneakerheads and he said it for them. The actor wrote, “I know every time I say something there will be people on social media who don’t know anything about footwear etc. going crazy but a lot of my followers are enthusiasts or are looking to collect and that’s the audience I’m speaking to.” He concluded, “You can now continue going bonkers on here for a temporary release of joy.”

Netizens were still unhappy with his explanation. One of the comments read, “Gareeb hone par mazaak bana raha hai Anil Kapoor ji ka ladka..Wah Bhai kya mast Mindset hai Aapka !!( Anil Kapoor’s son is making fun of people being poor. Wow, brother what a great mindset you have).” Another wrote, “Bro accept that your passion for shoes made you sound cocky. You can’t regulate people’s choices based on your preferences.” Some also came in support and wrote, “Most people on Reddit and Twitter already have a confirmation bias against star kids and they leave no opportunity to hate.” 

Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor made his debut with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya alongside Saiyami Kher in 2016. The actor will be next seen in Abhinav Bindra’s biopic which is scheduled for a 2024 release.
