A 35-year-old liquor businessman was detained by Gurugram Police for allegedly threatening a 12-year-old boy with a revolver. This incident occurred during a children’s football game in a park at DLF Phase 3, according to police reports on Thursday. The altercation was recorded and shared on social media platforms. The businessman, Prateek Sachdeva, had his licensed revolver confiscated but was later granted bail.
The confrontation unfolded on Tuesday around 5:30 pm at Lagoon Apartments park. Children were playing football when a dispute arose among them. One child informed his father about the scuffle, prompting the father to retrieve his revolver and confront the children in the park. He allegedly aimed the weapon at one of the boys, aged 12. The video also captured Sachdeva’s wife urging him to leave the scene.
Police Investigation and Legal Action
Following the incident, the frightened boy was sent to stay with relatives, as per police statements. The boy’s father lodged a complaint, leading to an FIR against Sachdeva under sections of the BNS and Arms Act at DLF Phase 3 Police Station. “We arrested the accused liquor businessman and seized his licensed revolver. He was released on bail after he joined the investigation. A probe is underway,” stated an officer involved in the case.
The authorities are continuing their investigation into this matter to determine further legal actions. The community remains concerned about safety following such incidents involving firearms in residential areas.
