Petrol and diesel prices continue to be increased on October 23, 2021 Fuel rates vary across states owing to the variation in implication of local taxes. Petrol and diesel rates have been increased by 35 paise each.

State-run oil marketing companies including BPCL, HPCL and IOC began revising fuel rates on a daily basis on September 24 after international crude rates hit close to a 3-year high. Notably, now the crude prices internationally have hit 7-year high and fuel rates in the country have been kept unchanged after 7 consecutive days of hike.

International crude rates
In the previous day, oil continued to be at multi-year high levels as tight supply concerns continued to fuel bullish sentiment. Crude is set for its seventh weekly gain.Brent crude futures rose 23 cents, or 0.3%, to $84.84 a barrel at 0933 GMT, after Thursdays three-year high of $86.10.
