Kinsa just added Florida to the red zone for COVID-19.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Just a day after Kinsa announced that South Florida is heading into a dangerous place for COVID-19, the company has updated its map of the United States to move the entire state of Florida into the red zone for current cases. Florida now joins 38 other states with this distinction.

Kinsa is the company behind the “Kinsa Digital Thermometer” and rose to fame in the early days of COVID when the data generated from the digital thermometer generated an incredibly accurate prediction of how COVID would spread. The thermometer sends anonymized data — whenever it’s used — to create the “HealthWeather” map. The map is used by public health officials nationwide.

On Friday, Kinsa added South Florida to its list of regions expected to experience significant COVID spread over the next several weeks. Florida’s indicators, according to Kinsa, indicate troubled times ahead.
