Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has approved round-the-clock operations for 111 more shops and commercial establishments. This move is intended to boost economic activity and create jobs in the national capital, according to a statement from the city government. The decision allows consumers continuous access to essential goods and services.
The labour department submitted the proposal, which permits eligible businesses to operate non-stop. However, they must strictly follow the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act. Violations of these regulations will result in strict action, as stated by Atishi. Establishments with extended hours must ensure compliance with labour and operational standards.
Labour Regulations and Compliance
Women employees are restricted from working beyond 9 pm in summer and 8 pm in winter. This regulation is part of the conditions for establishments operating 24 hours. The labour department received 175 applications for continuous operation, out of which 111 met the required standards.
With this latest approval, over 700 establishments in Delhi can now operate 24 hours a day. This initiative highlights the Delhi government’s commitment to creating a business-friendly environment. It also reflects a growing trend of businesses seeking permits for round-the-clock operations.
Economic Expansion and Job Creation
The increase in applications indicates the government’s positive approach towards economic growth and job creation. Atishi emphasised that this initiative demonstrates the government’s dedication to fostering a supportive business climate. The approval of these applications is expected to enhance business accessibility in the city.
The decision aims to provide consumers with uninterrupted access to essential goods and services, thereby promoting economic activity. The government is keen on ensuring that businesses adhere to all necessary regulations while benefiting from extended operational hours.
This development marks a significant step towards encouraging economic expansion in Delhi. By allowing more establishments to operate continuously, the government hopes to stimulate job creation and support local businesses in their growth efforts.
