NEW DELHI: Just a day after top BJP functionaries alleged that Chirag Paswan is trying to create confusion by pledging support to the saffron party despite walking out of NDA in Bihar, the LJP chief on Saturday appealed to voters to ensure a BJP-LJP government in the state.
Chirag tweeted on Saturday to say that by coming together, the BJP and LJP nominees will build a “young” Bihar as he asked voters to support BJP candidate Shreyashi Singh in Jamui constituency. LJP has said there would be a “friendly fight” with BJP in five seats where it has also put up its candidates.

Meanwhile, taking a queue from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio address “Mann ki Baat”, the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) has started a social media campaign “Chirag se kaho Mann ki Baat” featuring people’s views on mass migration from the state, development, employment and law and order situation in Bihar.
This is a part of the campaign to popularise the LJP chief Chirag Paswan’s agenda of “Bihar First Bihari First” as the poll dates draw closer. The party’s social media posted videos of youth, women and elderlies flagging gaps in the school education system, infrastructure, industrial development, electricity supply and availability of safe drinking water. The LJP has been lashing out at chief minister Nitish Kumar on development issues while the CM has been highlighting the developments carried out during his tenure.
The campaign comes amid senior BJP leaders slamming Chirag for taking names of top leaders, particularly the PM, for their blessings and his claims of BJP-LJP forming the government in Bihar after the polls.
“The messages are people’s testimonies. This is for the first time a political party in Bihar has prepared its vision document by talking to people and taking their inputs on what they want from the government. Is it not true that the successive governments in the state have failed to create opportunities for people? We are going to people with promises and the roadmap. There is no road ahead for Nitish Kumar,” said LJP’s national spokesperson Sanjay Saraf.
Meanwhile, senior LJP leader and late Paswan’s younger brother Pashupati Kumar Paras did damage control late Friday night just hours after praising the Bihar CM and his development work, which had left the party functionaries confused. Taking a U-turn, Paras slammed the CM saying that there has been no development during his tenure and whatever development has taken place is because of the NDA government at Centre. He called Chirag is “VikasPurush” who has set an agenda for development.
