Review:
When
it
comes
to
content
on
OTT,
we
usually
get
to
see
suspense
thrillers,
gangster
dramas,
and
series
that
are
mainly
in
dramatic
serious
zone.
So,
when
we
watched
the
trailer
of
Call
Me
Bae,
we
thought
that
this
will
be
a
light-hearted
show
where
Ananya
Panday
will
play
a
character
that
is
similar
to
her
real
life
image.
But
wait,
this
series
is
like
‘expect
the
unexpected’.
Bella
aka
Bae
(Ananya
Panday)
is
from
a
super
super
rich
family
in
Delhi.
She
gets
married
a
super
super
rich
guy
thinking
that
her
life
after
marriage
will
be
a
perfect
fairy
tale.
But,
things
don’t
go
as
planned
and
one
mistake
changes
her
life.
Her
husband
and
her
family
abandon
her,
and
then
Bae
comes
to
Mumbai.
In
Mumbai,
she
restarts
her
life,
and
a
video
of
her
goes
viral
because
of
which
she
gets
a
job
as
an
intern
journalist
in
a
news
channel.
Now,
she
soon
gets
a
huge
story,
how
Bae
unveils
the
truth
takes
the
series
forward…
We
have
watched
a
lot
of
movies
where
after
an
incident
the
protagonist
understands
her
or
his
self
worth.
But,
Call
Me
Bae
stands
out
for
multiple
reasons.
It
talks
about
a
very
relevant
topic
that’s
happening
in
the
industry
because
of
which
the
audience
will
connect
to
it.
The
series
is
very
bright
and
colourful
which
makes
it
very
appealing
to
the
eye
while
you
are
watching
it.
A
Perfect
Dharma
Production!
Collin
D’Cunha
who
is
making
his
debut
as
a
director
with
Call
Me
Bae
has
surely
done
a
wonderful
job.
Comedy,
emotional,
and
the
dramatic
sequences,
everything
has
been
showcased
well,
but
of
course
there
are
a
few
cinematic
liberties
that
has
been
taken
in
the
series.
But,
as
the
show
is
entertaining
we
can
ignore
them.
Also,
one
thing
that’s
impressive
is
that
the
runtime
of
the
episodes
are
not
very
long;
all
episodes
are
of
around
40
minutes
or
less
than
that.

Actors’
Performances
Well
Well
Well,
if
you
thought
Ananya
Panday
can’t
act,
you
are
going
to
be
proven
wrong.
As
we
said
earlier,
after
watching
the
trailer,
we
thought
the
character
would
be
just
like
what
Ananya
is
in
real
life.
But
no,
it
is
not.
The
character
has
multiple
layers
and
Ananya
has
portrayed
really
well
proving
her
mettle
as
an
actor.
Clearly,
she
is
a
revelation.
Apart
from
Ananya,
the
show
features
many
talented
actors.
The
girls,
Muskkaan
Jaferi,
Niharika
Lyra
Dutt,
and
Lisa
Mishra,
all
them
have
been
give
wonderful
roles,
and
we
must
say
they
leave
a
strong
mark.
The
makers
have
not
made
the
show
just
about
Bae,
but
has
given
an
equal
importance
to
all
the
characters
around,
especially
these
girls.
Varun
Sood
looks
hot,
and
he
has
been
given
a
cute
character
which
he
has
performed
well.
Vir
Das
is
fantastic
in
his
role
and
Gurfateh
Pirzada
will
surely
steal
your
hearts
with
his
performance.
Even
Vihan
Samrat
and
Mini
Mathur
shine
in
their
respective
scenes,
and
Sahil
Shroff
grabs
our
attention
with
his
act.
Actors
like
Karishma
Tanna,
Tahir
Shabbir,
Sayani
Gupta,
Urvashi
Rautela,
and
Riya
Sen
are
seen
in
the
cameos
in
the
series;
and
all
are
very
good
in
their
respective
roles.

Review
Final
Verdict
Overall,
Call
Me
Bae
is
clearly
the
surprise
of
the
year.
It
offers
more
than
what
we
expected.
It
is
an
entertaining
show
which
tackles
a
very
relevant
issue.
By
the
way,
it
is
time
to
trend
