Preparations and Coordination

During a recent review meeting, the state chief secretary outlined a coordinated plan for all departments to ensure the event’s success. This was the second such meeting with the chief secretary. The state industries secretary initially briefed about preparations for the Bihar Business Connect 2024. The chief secretary emphasised that Bihar is emerging industrially and attracting both domestic and international business through its infrastructure and policies.

Investment Opportunities

The chief secretary stated that all preparations are on track and registration numbers are promising. “This program will not only be successful but will also open the doors of investment in Bihar and create many employment opportunities,” the chief secretary said. The initiative aims to double last year’s investment figures by encouraging all departments to contribute effectively.

Promotional Efforts

The first roadshow for Bihar Business Connect 2024 took place in Kolkata in early July. State Industries and Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra has conducted several roadshows nationwide to promote the event and attract investments. Recently, Bihar focused on its growing leather industry by hosting an investors’ meet in Kanpur on November 18, showcasing its potential as a global leather hub.

Bihar plans to welcome both domestic and international investors warmly. On July 1 in Kolkata, Mishra stated that the state would roll out the red carpet for investors. The previous investor meeting in 2023 resulted in several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) for proposed investments totalling Rs 50,500 crore from 278 companies.

The Bihar Business Connect is a significant initiative by the state government aimed at boosting investment and creating job opportunities. By focusing on sectors like textiles, food processing, and electric vehicles, Bihar seeks to enhance business growth within the state.
