Sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been topping the rating charts for years in a row and many of it’s characters, original and the replaced, hold a special place in the hearts of the audiences. Even while the show took a long break during the coronavirus-induced lockdown, many of the show’s characters remained viewer’s favourite and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that over the years the popularity of the serial and the actors have grown manifold.
One such a character is Tapu of the Tapu Sena fame, a role played fantastically essayed by Bhavya Gandhi for several years before he exited the show.
Recently, in an interview, Bhavya cleared the air on reports of him being fired from the show due to unprofessional behaviour. He outright refuted the charges that his unprofessional behaviour led to his ouster from the show.
Rubbishing the reports that his ‘unprofessional behavious’ led to departure, in an interaction with Times of India, Bhavya said, “I don’t care let them say whatever they want to say. I know the truth I know I am what I am. Let people think, I don’t care.”
Mentioning that the real reason behind him quitting the show was his wish to explore and learn new things, Bhayva said to the portal, “Because at a point in Taarak, I was just doing something, which was just monotonous. I’m just doing something constantly, I was just coming there everyday, doing this, doing that and then pack up, chalo ghar, and that happened for a long time. I said this is monotony and didn’t know how to handle it, I had no clue. I didn’t know what to do about this. So, then me and my parents had a chat even Asit (Modi) sir (producer of the show), the directors, everybody…each and every person that is connected to me – that is almost the set, everybody knew that I am leaving and I used to talk to them about what should I do, and what I shouldn’t.”
He added, “I was weighing all the ifs and buts, what should be done, and then eventually, I came to this conclusion that maybe I want to leave to explore, to learn new things, and still, I have not reached there.”
For the unversed, Bhavya quit the show after working for more than 8 years on the it. He was replaced by 19-year-old Mumbai based teenager Raj Anadkat.
