Ayushmann Khurrana’s film Dream Girl 2 sees the actor’s biggest opening, earning Rs 10.69 crore on day 1

Ayushmann Khurrana is back to enthrall the audience with his role as Pooja in Dream Girl 2. Released on August 25, the movie opened to positive response from the audience and the actor’s performance is being widely appreciated. This is also visible in the box office collection as the movie has collected a staggering sum on day 1 making it Ayushmann’s biggest opening film. 

Ayushmann Khurrana’s performance as Pooja in the 2019 hit Dream Girl was much loved by the audience, so much so that the film earned Rs 10.5 crore on day 1. However, the actor’s performance in Dream Girl 2 has beaten his record and made the movie his biggest opening by collecting Rs 10.69 crore in India net and 12.60 crore worldwide on day 1.


Ayushmann Khurrana took to his Instagram and expressing happiness about the same, wrote, “Thank you for giving me my life’s biggest opening. 25 August went well. #DreamGirl2 in cinemas.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, Dream Girl 2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit Dream Girl. The movie revolves around the story of Karam who transforms into Pooja (Dream Girl) to earn money to marry his girlfriend Pari. Released on August 25, the movie is garnering immense love from the audience who cannot stop praising the performances of the ensemble cast.

Recently, in a media interaction, Ayushmann Khurrana said that his respect for women has grown after playing a female character on screen. He revealed he had to wear heavy make-up, bulky lehengas, and a wig in summer for Dream Girl 2. The actor further added, “Ayushmann told reporters that his respect for women has grown after playing a female character in Dream Girl 2. To play a character who dresses as a woman, he said he had to put on heavy make-up and wear bulky lehengas and a wig in summer. “I had to shave two or three times a day, otherwise my face would get red. The beard used to grow. It was all very difficult,” PTI quoted him saying.
