The man suspected of shooting three people dead in Austin on Sunday has reportedly been captured while walking along a road on the outskirts of the city. Stephen Broderick, an ex law-enforcement officer who resigned last year after being charged with sexually assaulting a child, is reported to have been captured near Manor, to the east of Austin. He was armed, but complied with the arresting officers, according to KVUE. City Police Chief Joseph Chacon named Broderick as the suspect hours after three people were killed in an apparent domestic incident. The victims have been identified as Stephen Broderick’s estranged wife, Amanda Broderick, their daughter, Alyssa Broderick, and Amanda Broderick’s boyfriend, Willie Simmons III. Stephen Broderick was reportedly apprehended while walking along U.S. 290 near Manor.
