Apple is just a day away from unveiling its latest iPhones and watches and the company was reported to hold another event in October to announce new iPad Air and Macs. However, the latest report from Bloomberg suggests that Apple has cancelled that event due to the lack of new products to justify a standalone launch event.

Instead, the company might introduce its next-generation iPad Air with just a press release, similar to how it launched the latest MacBook Pros with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. This report comes just a day after analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported on the possible postponement of the M3-powered MacBook launch until early 2024.

The upcoming iPad Air is expected to be powered by the M2 chip and is likely to retain the industrial design. With the new chip, the iPad Air M2 will be as capable as the flagship iPad Pro.

Apple’s October launch event was supposed to include three major announcements: Apple Silicon M3, new MacBooks, and the next-generation iPad Air. With two out of three products launching at a later date, it makes sense for Apple to cancel the launch event.

Apple is also reported to be working on next-generation iPad Pros, speculated to go official in early 2024 with an OLED screen, M3 chip, and a new Magic Keyboard with a metal build and an even larger trackpad. The lineup is expected to include a massive 14.1-inch screen, which is speculated to replace the current 12.9-inch model to take on the massive 14.6-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, which was launched alongside the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold5.
