Anurag Kashyap heaps praise on Kangana Ranaut but says it’s ‘very difficult’ to deal with her: ‘Kaam ko leke…’

Anurag Kashyap and Kangana Ranaut haven’t collaborated since Vikas Bahl-directed Queen, which was headlined by the actress and co-produced by the filmmaker.

Anurag Kashyap and Kangana Ranaut have often spoken about the ideological and political differences that they share with each other. In a recent interview, while promoting his latest film Haddi in which he is playing an antagonist, Kashyap heaped praises on the multiple National Award-winning actress.

The Jist interview also had Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, who plays suppporting actor in Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starred Haddi and its director Akshat Ajay Sharma. When an audience member asked Zeeshan and Kashyap to describe their experiences working with Kangana, the Scoop actor said, “There was a time when Kangana as an actor, was superlative, when she did Queen and Tanu Weds Manu Returns”.

The Gangs of Wasseypur director added, “She is one of the finest actors. She is very sincere when it comes to work, there are other problems that she has. However, when it comes to her talent, nobody can snatch that away from her. What she has in herself, as an actor, as a sincere creative person also, nobody can take that away from her but yes, it is very difficult to deal with her.”

While Zeeshan has shared screen space with Kangana in Aanand L. Rai’s romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015) and has also been directed by the actress in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019), Anurag had collaborated with her on Queen (2013), which was directed by Vikas Bahl and co-produced by Kashyap under their banner Phantom Films.

Meanwhile, Kashyap is awaiting the release of his next directorial Kennedy, which premiered at Cannes this year. The neo-noir crime drama features Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone in the leading roles. Kangana will be seen next in the horror comedy Chandramukhi 2, which released in cinemas next Friday, September 22.
