Akshay Kumar honours Jaswant Singh Gill on Engineers Day and expresses gratitude for the opportunity to play him in Mission Raniganj.

Akshay Kumar is currently busy promoting his upcoming movie Mission Raniganj. On the occasion of Engineers’ Day, the actor shared a photo of Jaswant Singh Gill and expressed gratitude for playing him in the movie. 

On Friday, Akshay Kumar took to his Instagram and shared the picture of Jaswant Singh Gill, the actor wrote, “Happy #EngineersDay. I could never even imagine myself studying hard to be an engineer. But then I got an opportunity to play a brave, intelligent engineer like Jaswant Singh Gill ji in MissionRaniganj. My parent’s wish has been fulfilled.” 

Netizens also reacted to the actor’s post. One of the comments read, “no one can do better than you sir.” Another wrote, “you are an inspiration, sir.” Another wrote, “Love you sir, eagerly waiting for your Mission Raniganj best wishes to the entire team.” 

Helmed by Tinu Suresh Desai, Mission Raniganj is a survival thriller based on the Raniganj Coalfields collapse of 1989 in West Bengal. The film stars Parineeti Chopra, Akshay Kumar, Ravi Kishan, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, and Rajesh Sharma among others. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on October 6.

Akshay Kumar was last seen in OMG 2 starring Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. Helmed by Amit Sharma, the movie went on to be a huge success despite getting an A certification. Now, the actor will be essaying the role of engineer Jaswant Singh Gill who saved the lives of miners trapped in flooded coalmines in Mission Raniganj.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar also has Welcome 3 in the pipeline which is scheduled to release next year. The film stars Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, and Jacqueline Fernandez among others in key roles. Other than this, the actor also has Tiger Shroff-starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Hera Pheri 3 in the pipeline which is also set to release in 2024.
