Westward Leaning Wants You to Customize Your Sunglasses

If you’ve ever spotted your favorite celebrity or street style star (ahem, Olivia Palermo) in a pair of covetable sunglasses that you can’t manage to track down, chances are they were probably custom-designed. Assuming you don’t have all the resources of an A-lister, however, your own DIY sunnies aren’t exactly easy to come by. But Cali based sunglasses brand Westward Leaning is changing up the specs game.

The philanthropic-minded company is launching Westward Leaning Custom, a new service that allows customers to design their own personalized shades. Shoppers choose every detail from the frame shape to color, lens, finishes and the inside piece—and includes luxe material options like 18k Gold, antler and Mother of Pearl. It adds up to a total of 23,000 different unique combinations—meaning there’s a good chance nobody will ever have the same pair of sunglasses as you.

With the new venture, Westward Leaning creative director Robert Denning wants to put the power of design into customers’ hands, “With Westward Leaning Custom, the era of design despotism is over, and we’re excited to share the design process with our diverse customer base.”

The Westward Leaning Custom sunglasses range in price from $205 – $365—you can customize your own pair starting today at westwardleaning.com.
