London Olympics 2012 archery: Deepika Kumari crashes out
london : Deepika Kumari of India crashed out of individual event in the first round after losing to Britain`s Amy Oliver 2-6 at the London Olympics 2012.
Deepika lost the knock-out affair 2-6, failing to score a single ten pointer.
World number one Deepika was the main medal contender for India going into the Olympics.
Earlier, Rahul Banerjee and Tarundeep Rai were eliminated in the second round of the men’s recurve section. Jayanta Talukdar also suffered a humiliating defeat in the opening round. In the women’s section Chekrovulo Dwuro’s erratic performance saw her bow out in a shoot-off.
