Two days is all that stands between us and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. While we wait, many questions plague our GG-obsessed minds: Who will Rory end up with? How’s the Dragonfly Inn? What’s Sookie and Jackson’s third child’s name? Do Rory and Lorelai love-hate Sharknado as much as we do? But chief among them is the question every Gilmore fan has wondered for years and years: What are the series’ final four words?

Jimmy Fallon is as eager as us to find out.

On Tuesday, the Tonight Show host addressed the mystery of the final words with three Stars Hollow regulars: Scott Patterson (Luke), Liza Weil (Paris), and Sean Gunn (Kirk).

According to the cast members present, Patterson was the only one among them who actually knew what they were—though that didn’t stop them from hazarding a guess, or two.

“Maybe it’s ‘Kirk is your overlord,’” Gunn joked. Oh, how we wish this were so.

Patterson admitted that he tried to sway GG creator Amy Sherman Palladino’s vision. “My idea to Amy was ‘Drop the gun, Kirk,’ and she rejected it,” he said, noting that the final phrase is “more philosophical.”

Fallon’s guess? “Stars Hollow never existed. This whole thing is in a snow globe and that’s the way it ends.” WHOA. Now that we think about it, Fallon’s prediction seems incredibly plausible.

MIND = BLOWN.
